chapters 16, 17, 18
These chapters were quite interesting. The Echoes of Atlantic Revolutions to Strayer meant:
- A metaphor of the ever expanding ideas of agriculture
- How ideas spread and inspire people
- Began at the Atlantic and got bigger and bigger
- Occupy Wallstreet
Popular Sovernty (everyone gets to decide):
- Who's in charge (the legitamite leader)
- The process in which the person lead (i.e. the King lead, the Church told him what to do/believe)
- All average people were servants of the King (we now call this a Public Servant) [The President is a Public Servant]
The people were tired of how they were treated
The Right to Revolution
- Declaration of Independence --> gun debate [not just a right to revolution, its a duty]
- Our Country at some point might need to call us to stage a revolution (If something happens to our government)
Pre-Revolutionary France:
- 1% was the aristocracy (wealthy)
- 1% was the Church
- 98% was everyone else
You became wealthy by being born into it
98% of the "others" had to pay taxes (this included teachers, peasants [middle class & working class]
